The ISFR & FAN Conferences on Fluoride
August 7-11, 2008 | Toronto, Canada
Don't miss this unique moment in the worldwide battle against water fluoridation!
With over 30% of children in the United States and Canada now impacted by dental fluorosis, it is clear that millions of children are being over-exposed to fluoride. The effects of excessive fluoride exposure are far from benign, with recent research linking fluoride exposure to neurological disorders, thyroid problems, bone fractures, bone cancer, and arthritis. Despite these risks, there remains an intense lobbying effort to fluoridate more water supplies throughout North America, the UK, and Australia. In addition to tap water, fluoride is also in toothpastes, pesticide residues, medications, teas, and processed foods. In light of the widespread health risks posed by the growing exposure to fluoride, scientists and activists are converging in Toronto, Canada for TWO historic conferences.
The first conference (August 7-10), hosted by the International Society for Fluoride Research (ISFR), will examine fluoride's impact on bone and brain health and feature presentations from some of the world's leading scientists on fluoride toxicity. The second conference (August 10-11), hosted by the Fluoride Action Network and immediately following the ISFR conference, will address what citizens can do to stop water fluoridation in their own communities and regions.
The two conferences will both take place on the beautiful campus of the University of Toronto at Mississauga (12 miles west of Toronto). People are encouraged to attend both events. People attending the ISFR Conference will not have to pay the registration fee to attend the FAN Conference.
The back-to-back Conferences will allow people to
• hear and digest the best science on fluoride’s dangers to human health.
• meet in person some of the world’s leading fluoride researchers.
• meet and strategize with citizens and scientists fighting fluoridation from Canada, US, Australia, and other countries.
Further information about both Conferences can be accessed at the following two links:
People are encouraged to register for these conferences before July 5th (for ISFR) and July 15th (for FAN) in order to take advantage of the early-bird registration fees. Registration can be completed online (see: ISFR Registration Form | FAN Registration Form).
As noted above, people attending the ISFR Conference do not need to pay the Registration fee to attend the FAN Conference. For additional information about conference fees (including lodging and meals options), click here.
