„… Die Stadt Andrews liefert Trinkwasser aus dem Ogallala-Aquifer, das natürlich vorkommendes Fluorid enthält bei 5.1 mg/l. Derzeit betreibt die Stadt 16 Brunnen: sechs im Florey Field und zehn in den University Fields. Die durchschnittliche monatliche Produktion beträgt 10 Millionen Gallonen, wobei der tägliche Verbrauch bei etwa 60 Millionen Gallonen liegt.
UNSER TRINKWASSER IST REGULIERT
Die Stadt Andrews wurde von der Texas Commission on Environmental Quality darüber informiert, dass das von unserem System gelieferte Wasser den maximalen primären Schadstoffgehalt an Fluorid überschreitet, der in den Trinkwassernormen festgelegt ist, die gemäß dem „Safe Drinking Water Act“, Gesetz 93.523 (USA), erlassen wurden. Der primäre maximale Schadstoffgehalt wurde auf 4.0 Milligramm Fluorid pro Liter Wasser festgelegt. Die Wasserprobe aus unserem System enthielt bei diesem Gehalt 5.1 Milligramm Fluorid. Der übermäßige Fluoridgehalt des Wassers kann bei Kindern unter 14 Jahren zu Fleckenbildung auf den Zähnen führen. Trinkwasser mit Fluorid bei diesem Gehalt stellt keine unmittelbare Gesundheitsgefahr dar. Alle Zahnärzte in dieser Gegend sind über den Fluoridgehalt informiert.
Die Stadt Andrews stellt allen Familien mit Kindern unter 14 Jahren fluoridreduziertes Wasser zur Verfügung. im Gebäude hinter dem Rathaus, Logsdon 111. Wenn Sie berechtigt sind und an diesem Programm teilnehmen möchten, bringen Sie Ihren sauberen XNUMX- bis XNUMX-Gallonen-Behälter mit, um ihn mit dem fluoridreduzierten Wasser zu füllen. Jede Familie ist für die Beschaffung ihres fluoridreduzierten Wassers selbst verantwortlich. Es steht ein Bereich zur Verfügung, in dem Sie Ihren Behälter vor dem Befüllen ausspülen können.
