Today, December 10, is Human Rights Day. It commemorates the day in 1948 when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In a world where we daily witness gross abuses of human rights it is difficult to find hope, but it is there in each one of us. I remember in the 1960s reading a short statement from Alan Paton, the author of Cry the Beloved Country, a novel written during the apartheid era in South Africa. How could a white humanitarian find hope in such a situation? He wrote, “The only way we can endure man’s inhumanity to man, is to make our own lives an example of man’s humanity to man.”
Fluoridation and Human Rights
No government (local, state or federal) should have the right to add chemicals to the drinking water designed to treat human beings as opposed to treating the water to make it safe or palatable to drink. Treating human beings in this way violates the individual’s right to informed consent to medical – or human – treatment. Most European countries recognize this human right. Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, the US and a handful of other countries, do not. With your help in 2017 we will continue to challenge the right of these countries to arrogantly abuse our human rights on a daily basis.
Yesterday, we saw a fairly dramatic slowdown in donations and we are not quite sure why. Hopefully things will pick up today and over the weekend. Our current totals stand at $33,454 from 176 donors.
Don’t forget that each donation is being doubled by a super-angel until we reach $38,500 and we will receive an extra $1,000 when we reach 200 donors (just 24 from now). See donation details below.
Please join the Fluoride Action Network staff and team this afternoon (December 10), at 5pm (eastern time) for a year-in-review of the fluoride issue, a fluoride Q&A session for supporters, and an opportunity to interact with fellow campaigners —REGISTER NOW
As a thank you to supporters, Clint Griess has made the archive audio from several popular 2016 calls featuring FAN team members available for listening and downloading until Sunday at midnight. Click here to access your free presentations.
To make a tax-deductible donation to the Fluoride Action Network, a project of the American Environmental Health Studies Project, you can either:
- Donate online using our secure server. If you should experience difficulty in donating at our secure server, please call Network For Good at 1-888-284-7978 and press option 3 to make your donation over the phone.
- Or by check – please make checks payable to Fluoride Action Network and send to: FAN, c/o Connett, 104 Walnut Street, Binghamton NY 13905
Why give to Uncle Sam when you can donate to FAN? Uncle Sam has used enough of our tax money to promote fluoridation. Your donation to FAN will help to end it!
