Richmond Valley Council has been directed by the NSW Director General to fluoridate Casino’s water supply by December 31.

The Council has awarded the tender to carry out the installation of the fluoride system to a company called Prominent Fluid Controls.

According to Council’s director of works, Gary Murphy, the planning and purchasing of all the necessary equipment has happened, though there is some delay in the NSW Government approval process.

He expects it will be up and running by Christmas and said another mail-out about fluoride is on its way to residents.
