County Public Health officer asks city to reconsider fluoridation decision

Sawyer County Public Health Officer Eileen Simak on Monday, Sept. 10, asked the City of Hayward to reverse its Aug. 13 decision to stop fluoridating the city’s water based on cost concerns. Accoding to Simak, 70 years of data supports the benefits of fluoridation.

After Simak said the state might have funds to cover the city’s fluoridation cost, the council said it would consider access to those funds in considering resumption of fluoridation…
