For Estevan City Councillor Dennis Moore, residents have sent a clear message about the idea of a casino in the community and whether to continue adding fluoride to drinking water.

On Wednesday night, residents overwhelmingly rejected the development of a $30-million casino but approved the continuation of fluoride.

… Moore also supports the plan to continue with fluoridation. He is mindful that there is a concern to workers safety handling the chemical, but added that the city provides the service for what he calls a reasonable price of about $12,000. As well, Moore recently spoke to a retired dentist who said it would be a huge mistake to discontinue fluoridation because of the negative effects it would have on resident’s dental health.
