MARLBORO — An accidental release of concentrated fluoride into Marlboro’s water system prompted a warning from the state Department of Environmental Protection.

All Marlboro water consumers are urged to flush out their pipes for at least 10 minutes before using any water. Environmental officials also advise against using any ice or foods that were prepared with water earlier in the day.

All juices and baby formula prepared with water should also be thrown out.

The DEP said the fluoride release happened in the area of the Millham Water Treatment Plant and continued for about two hours.
