The addition of fluoride in the city’s water system will remain. 1,510 people voted ‘yes’ to keep fluoridation while 1,102 people voted to give it the boot.

In 2009, council passed the resolution to include this referendum in the 2011 civic election; since then the city hosted a fluoride information session where two experts spoke on the pros and cons.

The city currently adds between 0.7 milligrams per litre to 0.9 milligrams per litre of fluoride to the water system.
