Lawyer fees top $179,000 in Arab fluoride lawsuit

Through the end of July, legal fees had topped $179,000 in the lawsuit filed by the city of Arab against the Arab Water Works board of directors. The bulk of those fees – 88 percent – were charged to Arab Water Works. All the fees are paid by taxpayers in Arab and customers of Arab Water Works.

For the month of July (regarding the lawsuit only):

• The city of Arab paid or was billed a total of $6,668.25;

• Arab Water Works paid or was billed a total of $50,129.70.
