INDEPENDENT TD Michael Lowry has been ordered to change his Dail declaration following a complaint from Luke ‘Ming’ Flanagan.

… Meanwhile, Mr Flanagan is backing a campaign to halt the addition of fluoride to drinking water. Aisling Fitzgibbon has been seeking donations to help her to challenge the addition of “dangerous” chemicals to water.

She has said that she opposes the addiction of chemicals to water until they have been “proven safe” for human consumption.

And the Roscommon-South Leitrim deputy posed with Ms Fitzgibbon and supporter Aisling Hudson on Dublin’s Grafton Street yesterday to help her campaign.

Flouride has been added to drinking water in Ireland for over 50 years to help with dental hygiene. Numerous studies have shown no scientific evidence to suggest that the chemical is a danger to human health in the quantities that are used.
