Clean Water Newport will be holding a meeting for everyone concerned or having questions about the proposal to fluoridate Newport’s water this Saturday, August 22 at 1:00 p.m. at Ocean’s Way Clinic at 644 SW Coast Highway, Suite D, in Newport. Dr. Susan Andersen, ND and Rick North, who worked on the Portland fluoridation campaign, will lead the discussion. If you plan to attend, please RSVP at 541-574-6000.

After 10 years of having non-fluoridated water, the Newport city council is considering spending $300,000 to install new equipment and return to adding fluoridation chemicals to the water. As additional scientific evidence accumulates about the health risks and lack of effectiveness of fluoridation, more and more cities across the country and Canada have turned it down. Attendees will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and discuss what can be done.
