Forced fluoridation for Eastleigh and Netley residents was a “democratic scandal”, according to Chris Huhne [MP for Eastleigh].

“More than 70 per cent of the public responses were against the decision along with the elected representatives of Eastleigh and other areas, but this Whitehall-appointed quango just went ahead anyway,” says Chris.

In a last-ditch attempt to stop the plan, Chris has asked the Environment Agency to assess the local impact of dumping 100 tonnes of toxic fluoride in the water supply.

“Much will end up in the Test and the Itchen, which are world-class local eco-systems and the birthplace of fly fishing,” said Chris. “The impact must be looked at.”
