This development is the result of a plethora of research and studies about the effects of fluoride in regular toothpastes.
The Journal of the American Medical Association (1990-1992) has reported a greater incidence of hip fractures in fluoridated areas in the U.S. and Britain, while The New England Journal of Medicine (1990) reported that the fluoride treatment of osteoporosis patients resulted in higher hip fracture rates. The governmental National Institute of Environmental and Health Sciences (1990) has also reported that fluoride may be a cause of cancer.
As of April 7, 1997, the United States Food & Drug Administration required that all fluoride toothpastes sold in the U.S. carry a poison warning, as ingesting the chemical in large quantities may be lethal.

The American Dental Association recently conducted a large study on 39000 American children and found that the children did not derive any advantages from the use of fluoride. Earlier research has also been confirmed, as studies have proven that fluoride is toxic for adults when the amount is over 1000 ppm or 500 ppm for children. Most grocery store toothpaste brands have a formula which contains 0.15% w/v fluoride ion.
After realizing the harmful effects average toothpaste may have on consumers, Trivani International decided to create a product that would “do no harm” as their philosophy states.
