An email sent to Gilles Parent from Luc Fortin, a council member of Verchères, announced that the council voted unanimously to end fluoridation. The resolution was made on Feb 7, 2011, and the fluoride was turned off on Feb 8.

The email sent to Gilles:

According to Wikipedia: “Verchères is an off-island suburb of Montreal, in Montérégie, Quebec, located on the south bank of the Saint Lawrence River. The population as of the Canada 2006 Census was 5,243.”
