West Virginia: Sisters Health Foundation awards grants

Sisters Health Foundation on Wednesday announced its latest round of grants.

Thirty-seven nonprofit organizations in the Mid-Ohio Valley received funding from the foundation in support of its vision of “healthy people in healthy communities.” The foundation’s board of directors approved $447,377 in funding.

Eight organizations that provide direct services such as food and emergency assistance received a total of $26,825 from the Basic Needs/Direct Service small-grant program.

… Oral Health Priority Area:

— Pilot Club of Jackson County, Ripley, $10,000 to provide dental services for children and adults in Jackson County.

West Virginia Oral Health Coalition, Charleston, $45,000 to conduct a statewide environmental scan of local public service districts related to community water fluoridation, identify and equip six water systems in service area, and support schools with the West Virginia Fluoride Mouth Rinse Project.
