Recently Yuli County completed its safe drinking water project. Thereafter, over 50,000 farmers and herdsmen in 8 townships and towns bid farewell to the bitter and salty water and get access to sweet tap water.

In the past, due to the poor underground water quality which is beyond the standard of mineral content, diseases including fluoride spot teeth, renal stone were the endemic diseases in Yuli County.Therefore in 2006, the county invested over 64 mln Yuan in launching the water diversion and safe drinking water project.
