A New Tool For Fluoridation Fighters

Dear Friends, 

Today is Giving Tuesday. This is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday, which is the internationally recognized day of charitable giving and generosity, aimed at empowering people and nonprofits that make positive change for our communities and the world. 

The staff and volunteers at FAN work tirelessly throughout the year to give each and every person around the world the gift of cleaner and safer water, untainted by fluoridation chemicals. Our work has become more urgent with each passing year as a large and growing body of research, much of it government-funded, has exposed the dangers posed to our children, especially with respect to fluoride’s impact on the development of their brains.

Much of our work is educating people: the media, medical and scientific professionals, decision makers, and campaigners. In light of that, this Giving Tuesday we would like to give our supporters a new tool to help influence the leaders in their communities, as well as friends, family, skeptics, and neighbors. 

Over the summer, our staff took the most popular document FAN has ever published, “50 Reasons To Oppose Fluoridation” and updated it into a shareable, downloadable, and printable e-book with added graphics. We created the new document with the help of advisors like Rick North and Dr. Hardy Limeback, as well technical advice and writing from JANA Life Sciences and a donation from a forward thinking benefactor from the now fluoridation-free state of Florida. 

The original 50 Reasons document was first compiled by professor, environmental toxicologist, and FAN co-founder Paul Connett, PhD for a presentation to the Irish Fluoridation Forum in 2000. It was later refined in 2004, then updated again in 2012 to the version linked to above. We’ve updated with the latest science and added chapters. We hope you find it equally informative and useful:

Help Us Spread The Truth About Fluoridation

Our opponents, the American Dental Association (ADA), have a similar e-book they provide to elected officials, which despite being full of misinformation, is entitled, “Fluoridation Facts.” This year, we would love to have the funding available in our budget to print our “Reasons to End Fluoridation” document into books that can be distributed to state legislators, city councilors, and the media prior to public hearings or votes on fluoridation. 

Please help us push back against the propaganda of fluoridation proponents. We need your help to bring the truth to light. In the past 24 hours we’ve raised $2,104 from 15 donors on our way to our goal of $150,000 from 600 donors by midnight Pacific Time on December 31st.
