We’ve reached the last day’s of our annual fundraiser. We try to only run one each year to fund our infrastructure and campaign activities for the next 12 months. This includes maintaining and improving upon our website, which is the most visited in the world on the topic of fluoride and fluoridation, according to research conducted by the American Dental Association. Our fundraiser also pays for our email database and newsletter system, which allows us to inform all of you about the latest science, share resources, and notify you when there are campaign alerts in your state or region. Your support also allows us to subscribe to software called Curate, which tracks any mention of fluoride or fluoridation at municipal-level meetings, giving us the upper hand in educating local leaders and organizing local residents when they’re considering ending the practice.

If we’re able to raise enough this fundraiser, we’d also like to have software that allows for “click through email campaigns,” where we can send our supporters in an area a template email that they can customize or simply send to their local leaders or state legislators with the click of a button, making advocacy very quick and easy, and increasing our ability to show support for local and state policy change.

Below, is a short bulletin by FAN’s Education and Outreach Director, Jay Sanders, who has led a major project upgrading our website. This project couldn’t have been completed without the support of donors like yourself. For 25 years, our website has been a resource for scientists and campaigners around the world, and will ultimately be an accurate historical record of the fight against fluoridation after we win.

Will You Help Us With This Effort?

In the past 48 hours, we’ve raised $3,831 from 47 supporters in an effort to raise the necessary funds for our 2026 operating budget. This brings our current total to $44,976 from 329 supporters. Our current goal is $150,000 from 600 donors by midnight Pacific Time on December 31st. All donations, large and small, are crucial to us and are tax-deductible. A huge thank you to all who have supported our work and our website over the years!

How To Make A Tax-Deductible Donation

In an era where access to reliable, unbiased scientific information is paramount, the FAN website stands as a cornerstone for advancing fluoride research, aggregating decades of studies, expert analyses, and real-time updates on fluoride’s health impacts, from neurotoxicity to broader systemic effects on human and animal health.

With features like our Study Tracker and our News Archive chronicling global fluoride developments, the FAN website has equipped scientists, policymakers, and the public with the tools needed to challenge outdated water fluoridation practices for over 20 years. Beyond the science and news, the FAN website fosters a collaborative ecosystem for fluoride advocacy by providing an Activist Toolkit for community-driven initiatives, tracking our ongoing legal battle with EPA, and documenting successes in over 500 communities now that have rejected or ended fluoridation.

As a critical asset, the FAN website bridges the gap between cutting-edge science and actionable advocacy, ensuring that reliable information about fluoride reaches those who need it most. We wanted to preserve that asset well into the future when fluoridation is relegated to an archive of history.

So with the help of a generous benefactor and an experienced design team, we spent 2025 making substantial investments and improvements to our newly designed and upgraded FAN website.

SEO and Security Upgrades

The newly enhanced FAN site represents a significant leap forward in digital accessibility and reliability, with substantial improvements to our search engine optimization (SEO) and web security. By implementing modern SEO best practices—such as optimized metadata, faster page loading times, mobile-responsive design, and structured content—the site now ranks higher in relevant searches, making it easier for researchers, health professionals, journalists, and concerned citizens worldwide to discover critical fluoride studies and resources amid a sea of misinformation. This increased visibility ensures that information on fluoride’s health risks reaches a broader audience at a time when public awareness is more vital than ever.

Equally important are the robust web security upgrades incorporated into the platform, including full HTTPS encryption, regular vulnerability scans, and compliance with current data protection standards. These measures safeguard sensitive research data, user interactions, and donation processing, protecting the integrity of FAN’s mission against cyber threats in an increasingly digital landscape.

By prioritizing both discoverability and security, the upgraded FAN website not only amplifies the voice of independent fluoride research but also builds greater trust among its global community of supporters and contributors.

New Search and Translation Features

The revitalized FAN site utilizes cutting-edge AI-powered search and translation features designed to improve access to fluoride research on a global scale. The new AI-driven search tool leverages advanced natural language processing to deliver more intuitive, precise, and context-aware results, allowing users to query complex topics in everyday language and instantly surface relevant studies, news, and resources from our extensive databases—even uncovering connections across thousands of entries that traditional keyword searches might miss. This empowers researchers and advocates to navigate the vast body of fluoride science with speed and depth.

Complementing this is a robust translation capability that automatically renders key content, including study abstracts, health risk summaries, and advocacy materials, into multiple languages with high accuracy. By breaking down language barriers, these features ensure that critical information on fluoride’s potential risks reaches non-English-speaking communities, professionals, and policymakers worldwide, amplifying the Fluoride Action Network’s impact in regions where fluoridation debates are emerging.

Together, these innovations make the FAN website (with over 600,000 total users in 2025) not just a repository of knowledge, but an accessible gateway to fluoride research today and into the future.

Thank you for your support.

Jay Sanders
