(Saturday) – Cool, windy weather has greeted the start of the annual Rock County Air Show at the county airport north of Beloit. Green water flows from the taps in Orfordville; the cause is excessive amounts of hydrofluoric acid; water hydrants were flushed to correct the problem and there were no reports of people being harmed. Winners in the firefighters’ local muscular dystrophy drive included Lea Madison, who won a 10-speed bicycle and Laurie Larson, who got a $10 gift certificate. Beloit’s Knights rallied to shock Janesville Parker, 15-14, with quarterback Duane Vance leading the Beloit effort. Orfordville Parkview rolled over Clinton, 32-17, with Mike Sloniker catching four passes and scoring three touchdowns. Hononegah romped over Harvard, 41-0, with Dave Tansor one of the Indians’ stars.
