… Mayor opened the floor to the discussion of the Fluoridation of the Municipal Water Supply. Discussion included: LB 245 gives the provisions that all municipalities with a population over 1,000 even if the voters had previously voted to prohibit fluoridation. In cities that do not currently add fluoride to the water supply system must do so by June 1, 2010 unless the voters of the city adopt an ordinance to prohibit the addition of fluoride to the water supply system. A proposed ordinance to prohibit fluoridation may be placed on the ballot by a majority of the governing body or by an initiative petition. Motion made by Boston seconded by Wickham to add Resolution 5-2008 to the November 4th general election ballot. There being no discussion upon the motion made and upon roll call vote, the following voted yes; Davis, Boston, and Wickham. There were no votes against the motion. Motion carried. …
