Councilmember, Ward 1 Whitcomb read the following Resolution and moved for its adoption. Councilmember, Ward 2 Fenti seconded the motion.

A RESOLUTION AWARDING A MATERIAL SUPPLY CONTRACT FOR THE WATER TREATMENT FACILITY

WHEREAS, the Water Treatment Facility uses Hydrofluosilicic Acid (Fluoride Solution); and

WHEREAS, competitive bids were received on July 8, 2009 with the lowest responsive bid being submitted by Thatcher Company of New York to supply 5,500 gallons of Hydrofluosilicic Acid (Fluoride Solution) during the 2009 calendar year at a unit price of $ 4.83 per gallon; and

WHEREAS, funding for this chemical usage is included in the 2009 Water Treatment Facility operating budget; and

WHEREAS, the Public Works Director and the City Manager recommend the contract award to Thatcher Company of New York to supply Hydrofluosilicic Acid (Fluoride Solution);

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract with Thatcher Company of New York, 1905 Fortune Road, Salt Lake City, Utah 84104 to supply Hydrofluosilicic Acid (Fluoride Solution) during the 2009 calendar year at a unit price of $4.83 per gallon.

Vote Result: Carried unanimously (7-0) by roll call vote.
