FOUNTAIN, Minn. (KTTC) – The position of Public Works Director is now vacant in the city of Fountain after its previous director was let go in early March.
According to the Fillmore County Journal, the Fountain City Council held a special meeting on March 12 concerning the employment of John Hanson as Public Works Director.
Before the meeting, Hanson had been on unpaid leave after an incident in early February where he reportedly failed to follow protocol after a recorded reading of the city’s fluoride level was outside the state Department of Health’s acceptable range.
According to reporting by The Fillmore County Journal, a delayed fluoride exceedance report was submitted at the request of the city to the Department of Health. The city then posted a Tier 3 fluoride overfeed to the community.
The report goes on to say the city council voted 4 to 1 to end Hanson’s employment.
