Clay City will once again treat the town’s water with fluoride when final repairs to the city’s water filtration system are complete next year. Temporary repairs have been completed.

The matter of fluoridation was brought to the town council’s attention by Randi Staley, the town’s certified water system operator. She said fluoride has not been added to the town’s water supply for many months, perhaps years. While plans are being made for repairs to the filtration system, she thought it would be a good time to decide if fluoride should be added to the town’s water in the future.

After discussion, the town council voted 3-0 to do so, when final repairs are complete.
