The town of Duxbury held its special town meeting Monday night and residents voted no to removing fluoride from the town water.

Article 8 was a citizens’ petition to remove fluoride from the drinking water.

Duxbury town manager Rene Read says the water in Duxbury will stay the same for now.

“The fluoride question was an interesting question. It was a question posed to voters as to whether or not they would like to have the board of selectmen petition the legislation to remove fluoride from the water. The voters decided to leave things as they are, which mean fluoride will remain in the water for the foreseeable future,” Read told WATD.
