East Lyme: Water Fluordation Survey

Source: http://www.eltownhall.com/municipal-water-news | October 11th, 2013

Did You Know There Is Fluoride in Your Water?

Please take a short survey to help us with your opinion and thoughts.

Consistent with recommendations of the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health to reduce tooth decay, East Lyme fluoridates the public drinking water. Water fluoridation has been Town policy since 1974. The East Lyme Water and Sewer Commission is undertaking a review of this policy for three reasons:

• A recent federal reevaluation of the current science on fluoride;
• Questions from some of our customers regarding the benefits/risks of fluoridation; and
• The potential for cost savings.

As part of the review process, the Commission is asking you, our customers, to respond to the brief survey on or before October 31, 2011.
