El Dorado: Grants, pledges will likely allow water fluoridation at no cost to city taxpayers
Two grants and a couple of pledges from area foundations will likely allow the City of El Dorado to fluoridate its water supply at no cost to taxpayers, it was announced Wednesday during a meeting of the Tremendous Opportunities for Union County Health organization.
Dr. Lynn Douglas Mouden, director of the Arkansas Office of Oral Health, has been working with city leaders since a 2005 ordinance was passed allowing fluoride to be added to the El Dorado water supply.
Money woes have delayed the process until recently.
