Recently in the United States a 2024 judgement against the EPA – that found community water fluoridation to be an unreasonable risk to children’s brains – was overturned on appeal. The judgement however didn’t examine the neurotoxicity findings, instead it was overturned based on an obscure technicality of procedure that now demands the case be re-decided – but without the most damning evidence against fluoride. US Lawyer Michael Connett, who visited New Zealand last year for a speaking tour in which he talked about the case, joins RCR’s Alistair Harding to explain what’s happened and what comes next – as well as giving his thoughts on how a change in scientific procedure is needed if we ever want to conclude the fluoride debate.
