Fluoride hit areas in Nalgonda to benefit first

Hyderabad: The fluoride-affected areas of Nalgonda and parched places of Mahabubnagar districts will be the first beneficiaries of the prestigious Telangana Drinking Water Grid project. Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister K Tarakarama Rao directed authorities to identify nearest water sources and do a survey for pipeline connectivity and water tanks to villages in these areas on priority basis.

He held a review meeting with top officials of the department at PR office in Erramanzil on Tuesday. The minister reviewed construction of intake wells and expressed satisfaction on their progress. He, further, directed authorities to prepare a schedule that will elaborate progress of the project, for every six months and one year.

He emphasised on creating an exclusive website for water grid, which should contain even minute details regarding the project. Rao stated that he would sit down with IT department officials in next two days to review about laying of Optic Fibre Cable network simultaneously in trenches dug for the drinking water  project.
