Fluoride Removed from Forsyth City Water
Forsyth aldermen voted unanimously Monday night to discontinue the policy of adding fluoride to the city’s drinking water.
City Supervisor Chris Robertson recommended the board consider the move for several reasons…
“It is an acid, it is dangerous to personnel, which is one of my concerns if it got into their eyes or something that that…. What it does to ductile iron pipes. Where the fluoride is injected into ductile iron that particular piece of pipe has been replaced at least three times in 5 years.”
Robertson said adding fluoride to the city’s water costs approximately $5,000 annually…
