Forsyth residents will have the opportunity to voice their opinions on the policy of adding fluoride to city water. In a special meeting this week, aldermen decided to send out a survey to residents as part of a newsletter in March.

Residents will be asked to indicate their preference on the fluoride question, and return the informal ballot to city hall. Staff will tally the votes with a final decision on the issue slated for the regular board of aldermen meeting in April.

The board reinstated the addition of fluoride after the Taney County Health Department issued a statement endorsing its use. Previously the board voted to remove fluoride after concerns were raised by residents and staff members.
