Posted on June 12, 2013 Location: OntarioResidents should be aware of the high level of naturally occurring fluoride currently in the Ridgetown water supply.
Fluoride levels have exceeded the maximum allowable concentration of 1.5 parts per million, according the Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit.
Infant’s teeth exposed to fluoride may develop dental fluorosis which causes white spots or mottling on the teeth.
Doctors recommend several ways to reduce fluoride exposure to young children including – avoid mouthwash, fluoride supplements, and use non-fluoridated water when mixing baby formula.
