The Lewis Herald | Hohenwald City Council votes to remove fluoride from City water| September 7, 2011
Posted on September 7, 2011 United States, TennesseeResolution 3509 to remove fluoride from the City water system passed unanimously and shall become effective immediately. Recently the City of Spring Hill has made a similar move and the City of Waynesboro made the same decision over 12 years ago. Most fluorides used in public drinking water were originally sodium fluoride. This fluoride is a by-product of making aluminum. In recent years the fluoride used has been switched to a by-product of making fertilizer a hydroflurosilicic acid which is what Hohenwald used. Recent studies have proven both forms of fluoride to cause various health problems. Included in these are Alzheimer’s disease/dementia, cancer, genetic damage, kidney impairment and joint pain and arthritic symptoms just to name a few.
