Hudson Water Department discontinues use of Chinese fluoridation chemical

Title: Fluoride use discontinued at two of Hudson’s five wells

Hudson – The Hudson Water Department announced recently that it has discontinued the use of fluoride manufactured in China to treat the town’s water supply at two of its five wells.

Because Hudson uses an alternative liquid fluoride product at its three remaining wells, as well as its single surface water supply source, the town’s water supply will continue to contain fluoride to prevent tooth decay.

As soon as a new source of safe solid fluoride can be located, the fluoride injection system at the two wells that had used fluoride manufactured in China will be put back on line.

Residents with questions regarding this matter are encouraged to call the Hudson Department of Public Works at 978-562-3333.
