Hydrogen fluoride leak forces evacuation of downtown Vancouver building
Several people were sent to hospital after a hazardous material scare in downtown Vancouver yesterday.
Crews discovered a hydrogen fluoride leak in the building around noon.
Eight people reported feeling ill and five were examined in hospital as a precaution.
All of them are now doing fine.
Police evacuated the building and closed Homer Street between Helmcken and Nelson Streets while they searched for the cause of the leak.
