EPA’ development of the Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) and its decision to withdraw food tolerances for sulfuryl fluoride were questioned by House Republicans Wednesday during hearings on the agency’s proposed $8.15 billion 2014 budget.
The hearings were the second time during the week that EPA’s IRIS initiative came under questioning in Washington. In separate news, the General Accounting office criticized EPA’s slow progress in compiling toxicity data and recommended more aggressive efforts.
