A recent sanitary survey by the DNR led the Lake View City Council to discontinue using fluoride in the drinking water system. City Administrator Scott Peterson says the survey came out fine but the DNR made some changes to the amount of fluoride which would have cost the city money.
He says they heard from members of New Opportunities and the public health department that wanted the fluoride to remain in the water so people would continue getting fluoride in their bodies. Peterson says the council made the changes because of the cost.
He says they have about a month’s supply of fluoride left.
