Officials with Lambton Public Health say some residents may not be receiving optimal fluoride levels in their drinking water.

The health unit says the issue is due to ongoing repairs to the Lambton Area Water Supply System that have been underway since January.

Public health officials say the pause in fluoridation does not affect the safety of the water and it remains safe to drink.

Residents are encouraged to brush their teeth with fluoridated toothpaste.

Lambton Public Health says it will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
