LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) – A Laredo City Council meeting will take place on Monday, August 18.

Items that will be up for discussion include the possible authorization of a $439,000 contract that will continue to provide public health services for the state services program to assist people with HIV and AIDS.

The council will also discuss working with federal representatives to address the city’s veterinarian shortage.

Additionally, councilmember Gilbert Gonzalez is hoping to direct the utilities department to investigate the addition of fluoride into the city’s drinking water.

The meeting is set to take place at 5:30 p.m. at City Council Chambers.
