Excerpts:
… Molong residents will also be asked for their feedback on plans to add fluoride to the town’s water supply.
A Cabonne Shire Council committee has resolved to investigate the cost of fluoridating the water and whether residents would support it.
The matter has been raised by the Rural Dental Action Group, which says the results of a survey show communities that don’t have fluoride in their water systems have higher rates of dental decay than those that do.
Mr Fleming says the plans need further consideration.
“It was an issue that was considered by the Molong community about 15 years ago.
“Whilst there was some support it wasn’t strong enough at that time.
“So what council is doing now is giving a sort of update on the information and we’ll go to the community and see what their views are on it.”
