NEWBURYPORT — The City Council is scheduled to meet tonight at 7:30 in City Hall, but the subject of fluoride has been taken off the agenda.

City councilors Ari Herzog and Meghan Kinsey had planned to request a vote of the City Council on preliminary steps to take fluoride out of the municipal drinking water.

But they have decided to wait on the proposal until the council’s next meeting.

“Councilor Kinsey and I decided to postpone this until the next regularly scheduled meeting on Feb. 9,” Herzog said.
