A petition has been submitted to the Supreme Court to stop the fluoridation of drinking water.

Fluoridation was stopped by former health minister Yael German. Health Minister Ya’akov Litzman ordered the practice to be resumed. It is widely believed that the addition of minute amounts of fluoride help fight tooth decay. In the petition, German and fellow Member of Knesset Yael Cohen Paran contend that fluoride is not healthy and should be a matter of individual choice.
