Sarnia: Cost of fluoride

It costs about $131,000 a year to add fluoride to Sarnia’s drinking water. In an effort to find cost-savings, Coun. Andy Bruziewicz asked staff to confirm what’s spent on the controversial decay-fighter. The figure includes the cost of the fluoride, staff training, lab tests and equipment upkeep. Council voted in February to retain flouride in drinking water but the issue arises regularly.
