Scarsdale awarded $260,000 fluoridation grant from New York State Department of Health

RESOLUTION RE: AMENDING THE FY 2021-22 ADOPTED BUDGET TO APPROPRIATE FUNDING TO THE FLUORIDE UPGRADES CAPITAL PROJECT

WHEREAS, the Village of Scarsdale was awarded a $260,000 grant from the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) in October 2018 to fund 100% of the costs in connection with fluoridation and water quality improvements at the Reeves Newsom Water Supply Station; and

WHEREAS, having commenced in January 2021, the project has reached substantial completion on time and within budget, with design and inspection services of $33,800 and a construction cost $225,930, for a grand total of $259,730, which is within budget and reimbursable according to the grant’s terms and conditions; and

WHEREAS, as a result of $225,930 in project funding not being obligated prior to the close of the FY 2020-21 fiscal year, a budget amendment is necessary to transfer $225,930 from undesignated fund balance in the Water Enterprise Fund to the FY 2021-22 RNWSS Fluoride Upgrade Account, EWS-8310-DSTRB-CAPTL-500 52, where it may be disbursed for final payment; now, therefore, be it

WHEREAS, that the FY 2021-2022 budget be amended by transferring $225,930 in undesignated fund balance from the Water Enterprise Fund to the FY 2021-22 General Ledger account RNWSS Fluoride Upgrade Account, EWS-8310-DSTRB-CAPTL-500 52, where it shall be used to support fluoridation and water quality improvements at the Reeves Newsom Water Supply Station on a grant-reimbursable basis.
