On June 30, 2014. Nader Hassan from the law firm Ruby Schiller Chan Hassan Barristers informed Peel regional council that the practice of water fluoridation raises various legal concerns. Mr. Hassan presented at the council meeting in hopes of avoiding taking the issue to court.

The council deferred any decision on the matter until September 11, 2014. To allow the regions legal team to look over the paperwork.

At the September 11th meeting the region decided to defer the issue until after the next election.

In response to the decision lawyer Nader Hasan, on behalf of Liesa Cianchino and Concerned Residents of Peel to End Water Fluoridation, advised Council that we will be launching a lawsuit in Superior Court, asking the Court to declare that Peel’s water fluoridation programme is unconstitutional.
