The Trenton City Council is scheduled to reconvene on June 23 to continue deliberations on whether to halt the addition of fluoride to the municipal water supply. The meeting, set for 7 p.m. at Trenton City Hall, will also address a pair of ordinances, a resolution, and various city matters.
One ordinance on the agenda proposes a contract with New Horizons Enterprises for asbestos inspection services. The second ordinance pertains to a work order with the Howe Company related to the Transportation Alternatives Program grant application.
A resolution will also be considered, formalizing the city’s intention to allocate matching funds in its 2025–2026 fiscal year budget. The 20% match is required for the 16th Street Sidewalk Project under the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Transportation Alternatives Program.
Additional items on the agenda include the evaluation and approval of bids related to emergency abatement services, lime sludge removal, and tree trimming. Council members will also discuss demolishing a house located next to the Grundy County Museum, authorizing the purchase of a truck for the underground utility crew, and maintaining three abandoned or orphaned properties.
The council will review recommendations from the Utility Committee as well. These include contracting Irvinbilt to complete a water leak repair at the city’s water plant and hiring a new utility line worker.
