A water fluoridation plant at Wauchope is almost complete and is expected to be online by April.

The $1.77 million dollar facility is being constructed at Rosewood Road near the Wauchope Water Treatment Plant by an external contractor.

The installation of the facility’s internal fluoridation equipment will be completed by the Port Macquarie Hastings Council.

The council says the plant is being built after a direction from the New South Wales Department of Health to fluoridate the region’s reticulated water supply.

The Department has provided the money needed to fund the project.
