Voters at Templeton’s special Town Meeting approved eight of the nine articles, turning down only a citizens’ petition regarding the governing authority for fluoridation in the town’s water.
Citizens’ petitions
Articles 9 and 10 were citizens’ petitions presented by Julie Farrell and 14 others.
Article 9 sought a moratorium on fluoridation in the town’s water supply until safety and toxicological reports are provided, and was passed over at the petitioner’s request.
Article 10 sought to make the Town Meeting the governing body over whether or not fluoride can be added to the town’s water. This article was debated on town meeting floor, ultimately failing.
The town’s water supply is currently fluoridated.
