Dear Friends:

Have you been receiving all of our bulletins this December?  Some of you haven’t been due to an issue with our email system. If this applies to you, or if you’ve been getting our emails but haven’t had the time to read them all, I have posted links to all of them below to make it easy to see what you may have missed.  We also have a surprise offer for all who make a donation!  But first, here is an update on our annual fundraiser for FAN’s operating and campaign budget for 2023.

Yesterday we raised $1,245 from 15 supporters. This is doubled to $2,490 thanks to the $10,000 doubling pledge made by one of our “super-angels,” bringing our new total to $40,141from 206 donors on our way to our year-end goal of $180,000 from 1000 donors.  The next $602 will continue to be doubled. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated and supported our work this year and in years past.

Offer To Supporters

As I am sure many of our supporters have spotted, we have fallen behind in our fundraising effort. These are difficult economic times for all throughout the world, we realize this. So we have a modest proposal and an offer to supporters who can help in any way. This week, will set our sights on raising a lot of small donations (say $10 and $20) so that we can get our number of donors (i.e. members) up to impress small foundations that we will be making grant appeals to.  To achieve this, we are setting a mini-goal of getting our total up to at least $50,000 from 500 supporters by Christmas Eve. That means we need to raise about $10,000 from 300 supporters in the next 5 and a half days. Can you help us achieve this goal?

An easy way to do this is to start a peer-to-peer campaign, which is detailed at the bottom of this bulletin. You can also simply share the following link on your social media pages or in an email to like minded friends, family, or social networks you’re part of, with a sentence or two saying that you support our campaign efforts and why. https://fluoridealert.org/articles/help-support-the-fluoride-action-network-2023-fundraiser/

We have an exciting offer to help with our mini-goal challenge. Jack Crowther, who has been actively organizing in Vermont for years and a generous supporter of ending fluoridation globally, will donate and send a brand new AquaTru countertop reverse osmosis water filter valued at $350 to one of you! All donors from now through midnight on Christmas Eve–of any amount–will be entered into a drawing, with the winner picked at random on the day after Christmas.

Jack writes of his experience with his own filter:

“I have used one of these countertop reverse osmosis filters for several years here in Rutland, which fluoridates its water supply. I have been happy with its performance and the taste of the water. The unit has multiple filters that are changed periodically. The filters are said to remove 83 contaminants, including lead, chlorine, fluoride, nitrates and more. I sent a sample to the state water testing lab, which confirmed the fluoride removal.”

Listing Of December Bulletins

We have learned that for a still unknown reason, thousands of your email addresses were removed from our mailing list due to certain email servers bouncing our bulletins. A bounce is when an email cannot be delivered to a server like Gmail or Hotmail, and has nothing to do with the email subscriber (FAN supporter) themselves. The problem is on the end of your email provider. We were able to reset most, if not all, of your addresses for now, and so if you missed a bulletin this month for any reason, here is a listing of them all with links:

What To Expect This Week

It’s the holiday season, but FAN can’t take a break because ending fluoridation is just too important and our year-end fundraiser is absolutely necessary to fund our work in 2023. We will continue to provide exciting and informative content over the next two weeks. Among the bulletins planned for this week will be one tomorrow with a comprehensive update on the nationwide fluoridation mandate being forced upon the people of New Zealand. This is a threat that has spread to the United Kingdom, and could be implemented elsewhere. That bulletin will feature a brand new video interview with two long-time fluoride-free organizers from New Zealand. Later this week, I’ll also provide an update on state legislation dealing with fluoridation; discussing FAN’s work in 2022 and this upcoming legislative season. There will also be much more, so please stay tuned.

There’s Still Time To Start A Peer-To-Peer Campaign

It’s not too late to launch your own education and fundraising campaign to end fluoridation. Our new easy to use peer-to-peer tool is available to all of you, and is intended to empower supporters with the ability to help promote the causes they value in their own unique way. As a testament to how powerful this tool can be, so far we’ve only had one person use it, but they were able to educate many about the harms of fluoridation, raise $1,000 (double their goal of $500), and sign up over a dozen completely new FAN supporters. Think about the impact this tool could have if only a dozen or two of our tens-of-thousands of supporters took advantage of it. *Note: you don’t need to be on social media to use this tool. You can share your campaign via email with everyone in your network.

Thank you,
