The campaign proposing to fluoridate Portland’s drinking water is raking in hefty contributions ahead of the May 21 ballot battle over the issue.

Healthy Kids, Healthy Portland reported $5,000 checks from the Nurses United Political Action Committee; the Oregon Dental Hygienists’ Association and from Healthy Teeth For a Lifetime.

The campaign has now reported raising $50,000 and spending $10,000 on rent and a political consultant, Rep. Ben Unger (D-Hillsboro).

The “no” committee, Clean Water Portland, has raised $15,000 this year and has $2,000 on hand.
