The Union County Board of Commissioners voted 4-0 during its meeting Tuesday, Jan. 16, to approve a motion made by Commissioner David Williams to direct staff to draft a text amendment to county ordinances that would prohibit water fluoridation.

Once an ordinance has been written, a public hearing on the issue can be scheduled, and the board will vote on the matter.
